American Experience: Triangle Fire on PBS
On March 25th, 1911, a fire broke out due to a dropped match on the a higher level floor of the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory in New York's Greenwich Village. 146 were dead by the time the fire burned out. Watch the PBS special on this tragic event in OHS history.

The chemicals workers com in contact with on a daily basis have limited federal regulation, and little guidance is provided by companies on how to handle the products.

Global OHS: 25th Anniversary of Bhopal Disaster
December 3, 2009 marks the 25th Anniversary of the Bhopal disaster in which a Union Carbide plant in India released a large amount of methyl isocyanate (MIC) gas and other toxins, resulting in the exposure of over 500,000 people making it one of the largest and deadliest industrial accidents in history.
NIOSH Announces Research Workshop for Designing Worker Safety, Health into Green Jobs and Sustainability
The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) will hold a national research workshop, Making Green Jobs Safe: Integrating worker health and safety into sustainability, on Dec. 14 – 16, 2009, in Washington, D.C.
